Legal Requirements


Work with most asbestos containing materials is controlled under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulation 1987 (as amended 1992). The object of these regulations, which were made under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and therefore carry the weight of criminal law, is to minimise work-force exposure to asbestos fibres within the workplace.
